Hi Gordon and Charlie,

I am making slow progress on the oil-out-the-breather Convert, but at least I am moving forward. Last weekend I fit a catch tank and this morning I took it out for a test. All was well with no oil trouble until I started running up the interstate. I kept it pegged at 80 MPH and it is all up hill...so the engine was definitely getting a work out. I kept glancing down at the clear tubing until I saw waves of oil moving along inside the tubing. At that point, I dropped down to 60 MPH and just took it easy all the way back home. Today's test was all about making sure that I still had trouble with the catch can in place. Now that I know that the problem exists, I can start making changes, one at a time, and then testing again. Baby scientific steps, but necessary if I am to know the problem is solved.

I really can't imagine that the breather box itself is defective, as I checked it again last week when I installed the catch can. I also blew high pressure air into the return line and I could definitely feel the air exiting from the dip stick hole - so the return line is not blocked. All the same, my next step is to swap breather boxes with my Ambassador and see what happens.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that my Convert is not covered with oil after that little test run. That catch can is worth a lot more to me now than the USD $17.00 (delivered) I paid for it!:>
