Relay connections - starter

The starter relay is located inside or near the battery tray area.
V7 Sport starter relay electrical connections
Original starter
- Black wire to ground (light gauge wire)
- Brown wire to handlebar mounted starter button (light gauge wire)
- Black wire to battery positive terminal (heavy gauge wire)
- Black wire to starter (heavy gauge wire)
Common replacement Bosch starter (as used on Guzzis of the same era)
- Relay terminal 30 - Red wire from fuse box
- Relay terminal 85 - Black wire to ground
- Relay terminal 86 - Brown wire from handlebar mounted starter button
- Relay terminal 87 - Red wire to starter solenoid
