Thanks to Steve Odell for sending me this information, very useful for determining amperage, wattage, voltage, and resistance. Please use this information in combination with Electricity usage by component and Wire size/gauge selection for 12 volt circuits.
Mathematical abbreviations
- I = Amps (Intensity of Current)
- P = Watts (Power)
- E = Volts (Electromotive Force)
- R = Ohm's (Resistance)
Example
I = P divided by E
One 35 Watt spotlight / 12 Volt system = 2.91667 Amps used
One 35 Watt spotlight / 13 Volt system = 2.69231 Amps used (if Volts go up, Amps used goes down)
