Thanks to Joe Tokarz for sending the description and photos of the engine test stand he built. In Joe's own words:
After restoring several vintage motorcycles it's always an anxious time placing the untested engine into a fresh frame since things don't always go as planned. The 1972 Eldorado police project was going to be different. The engine would be tested in a stand before installing into the powder coated frame with no body parts to get in the way or get damaged.
I planned to make a stand from scratch but happened to run across an altered loop frame on Craigslist. It was free; all I had to do was drive to Oklahoma City to get it. I think Italian goddess Futuna figured I could use her help.
Parts list:
- Auto Zone: Duralast coil LU-800, lighted ignition switch, start push button, relay
- Lowes: 1 inch square tube, perforated tube stock and casters
- Junk box: Oil pressure light and diamond plate
